Campus x MCD
Since 2012, Mr Call Designs has reinvented the way students go back to school. Noticing the trend amongst younger consumers to take lifestyle into consideration as a part of their college or university selection, MCD actively pursued projects in this sector.
I am proud to have been a pioneer in this industry and to be able to create affordable, thoughtful and inspiring projects for students across the United States. Today, the CAMPUSxMCD portfolio is one of the largest of any luxury interior design firms in the United States, and it continues to grow.

Student centers are at the heart of each of our properties. Hearkening back to the golden age of the Harvard Club and the Yale Club in New York, these are places to grab a coffee, work out, do homework, socialize, cook a meal, and escape the everyday hullabaloo that life brings. I consider them private clubs for a public age.
For those of you that want to go for a deep dive into how I created the projects, click the brand stories. A PDF portfolio will download for you to to review.

Student housing generally comes with a standardized furniture package. This could consist of a sofa, a chair, a bed, a dresser and an end table. Honestly, I never know what I am going to walk into. Always up for a challenge, however, I gladly work with these pieces of preselected furniture to show the students that great things can be achieved.
All of us, no matter what age we are, face restrictions with our interior. Student housing is the perfect opportunity to illustrate how people can personalize their space without having total control over the furnishings that they have to work with.
Using curtains, wallcoverings, artworks, accent furnishings and accessories (most sourced from accessible resources such as Target and Pier One), I design spaces that feel lived in, composed, and hopefully inspiring.
While these rooms pose many challenges, they are some of my most prized interiors to date.

Who better to capture the attitude and personality of the property than the person that designed it? Working with a great team of photographers, stylists, models, hair and make up people, MCD acted as creative director and production coordinator for these shoots. The goal was to create content for the properties website, social media feeds, and marketing materials. I know the photos are sexy. Thats what the kids on site wanted and responded too.
